Elegance and Refinement of the Vintage Collection

A house must reflect the personality of those who live there for it to be considered a real home; a place where you live with your family, welcome friends or simply relax after a long day at work. Furniture and furnishings help to make rooms more personal, welcoming and suited to needs, without ever forgetting aesthetic taste.

Minimal, industrial, chic or eclectic are just some of the modern styles used to furnish homes, but the real trend of the day seems to be fusion and the cross-contamination of multiple styles.

For some years now, interior designers have been proposing mixes of modern furniture with furnishings reminiscent of other eras and cultures, and Vintage rugs are without doubt articles that best express this concept of fusion.

Patchwork or whole, with neutral or bright colours, Vintage rugs manage to create suggestive atmospheres in rooms, fitting in perfectly with all styles.

But let's take a look at the different types of Vintage rugs:

  • ENTIRE KARMA

The Entire Karma collection reinterprets the traditional classic rug in a modern way, by re-dyeing the whole rug in fashionable colours. The old pattern is still vaguely visible in a way that maintains the strong link between past and present.

  • KARMA I PATCH

Karma I Patch rugs are selected from hundreds of old and ancient pieces, to be reinvented as per Sartori's project.

Bleached by sunlight, they are re-dyed and cut into different pieces which are then sewn together by hand. The seams can just about be seen, as can the original texture.

  • KARMA T PATCH

Karma T Patch incorporates old rugs from Anatolia which, like the other models in the Vintage collection, are resurrected from their original era to be reborn in the present as contemporary furnishings. The process of dyeing, cutting and sewing by hand is the same as for Karma I rugs, the only difference here is that the seams are deliberately more visible even though they are in the same shade as the rug.

  •  HAND PAINTED PATCH

The latest arrival here in Sartori is a line of rugs which, as the name would indicate, are painted by hand. After being created like any of the other patchwork rugs, they are then painted by hand by creative architecture students, who decorate them with geometric patterns using a paint brush which makes them totally unique and unrepeatable.

  • HAN PAINTED ENTIRE

The new Hand Painted Entire collection differs from the previous line in that the carpet is kept whole. In this way, the original patterns of the central frames and medallions can still be seen and are further enhanced and highlighted with new freehand drawings created by the architecture graduates.

  • OLD VINTAGE

This last line of products is characterized by antique and very fine carpets, specially selected to keep tradition alive by preserving the original colours.

The rugs in the Vintage Collection represent a union between the tradition of the ancient rug and the innovation of modernity; this mix gives them a unique and very special charm. In fact, they bring with them a message from the past and a story of rebirth. They are the result of the creative reuse of old and ancient rugs that are bleached, cut, re-dyed and hand stitched to take on new features and come back with a new, contemporary look in line with today's design and furnishings.
